My F-15E Ride

Below are pix from my "once-in-a-lifetime" flight in the U.S. Air Force's top-line fighter; the F-15E Strike Eagle. On November 1, 2006, I was authorized to fly with Mountain Home AFB 366th TFW Wing Commander Col. Anthony "Heater" Rock as his back-seater for a Wing photo mission over Idaho's breathtaking Stanley Basin, White Cloud mountain range, and Bruneau canyon. The flight consisted of two F-15E Strike Eagles, an F-15C Eagle, an F-16CJ Viper, and an EA-6B Prowler (attached from NAS Whidbey Island). The flight lasted 1.4 hours and was photographed by USAF photographer Master Sgt. Kevin J. Gruenwald seated in the back of an F-16. I'm the guy in the back of the lead ship in the formation.

This was an especially noteworthy occasion, because my Dad (Paul Parton, retired Air Force pilot) was able to accompany me throughout the day of flight readiness and briefings, and was waiting on the ramp when we returned to base.
